Not a top 10 list, but I stumbled on this just a few minutes ago and was blown away. Go to the site, input one of your favorite artists and it will create a great visual map of other artists that are similar, or that you might also enjoy.
Not sure what the parameters are for this, or how he initially set up the program to work, but it is very interesting.

interesting site.
I like the constant floating of some of these names.
I threw in U2 and got some huge laughs.
Billy Idol and Bono? not so much.
